1. Introduction

Welcome to Console Vault (“Console Vault”, “we”, “us”, “our”). These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Console Vault website, services, products, and platform. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our platform.

2. About Console Vault

Console Vault is a controlled recommerce and electronics platform specializing in:

  • Verified gaming consoles
  • Gaming PCs
  • Laptops
  • Phones
  • Accessories & spares
  • Professionally assessed second-hand electronics

Console Vault is not an open marketplace. All inventory is tested, verified, assessed, and listed directly by Console Vault. There is no direct buyer-to-seller communication or peer-to-peer trading on the platform.

3. Eligibility to Use the Platform

By using our platform, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You can legally enter into agreements under South African law
  • All information you provide is accurate and up to date

4. Product Listings & Grading

All products listed on Console Vault are individually assessed before sale. Products may include images, cosmetic grading, assessment reports, performance notes, and functional disclosures.

Grading System

  • Grade A – Excellent condition with minimal wear
  • Grade B – Good condition with moderate cosmetic wear
  • Grade C – Functional but visibly worn or requiring stronger buyer protection

Each item is unique and sold individually unless specifically stated otherwise.

5. Inventory Availability

Due to the nature of recommerce inventory, most listings have a quantity of one (1). Adding an item to cart does not reserve it. Inventory may sell before checkout completion.

Inventory states may include: Listed, Reserved, Sold, Archived. Sold items may remain publicly visible with a “SOLD” badge for transparency, social proof, and historical pricing reference.

6. Orders & Payments

Orders are only confirmed once payment is successfully completed, PayFast confirms payment, and inventory is allocated to the buyer.

We reserve the right to cancel orders where payment fails, fraud is suspected, pricing errors occur, inventory becomes unavailable, or duplicate purchases occur.

7. Payment Methods

Payments are securely processed through third-party providers including PayFast. By using a payment provider, you also agree to their terms and conditions. Console Vault does not store full card information on its servers.

8. Performance Protection Plan

Certain devices may require a mandatory protection plan during checkout.

Performance Protection Plan – R850

  • Full internal clean & inspection
  • Thermal liquid / paste / pad replacement
  • 12-month overheating warranty

Important

This plan specifically covers overheating-related performance servicing and preventative thermal maintenance only. It does NOT cover physical damage, liquid damage, power surges, accidental damage, software corruption, user negligence, unauthorized repairs, or theft/loss.

Mandatory Rule

The Performance Protection Plan is mandatory for Grade C consoles and Grade C gaming PCs. For Grade A and B devices, the plan may be optional.

9. Nano Screen Protection

Nano Screen Protection – R250

  • Premium nano liquid glass coating
  • Scratch & impact resistance (9H hardness)
  • Oil, water & fingerprint resistant finish

This service provides an invisible protective coating and is not equivalent to tempered glass protection.

10. Delivery & Shipping

Delivery fees are displayed at checkout. Estimated delivery times may vary depending on location, courier availability, stock processing, and public holidays. Risk transfers to the customer upon successful delivery.

11. Returns & Refunds

Returns are governed by our Refund & Returns Policy. Returned items must be returned in original condition, include all accessories, and not be modified or tampered with. Console Vault reserves the right to inspect returned items before approving refunds or exchanges.

12. Warranties

Certain products may include limited warranties. Warranty coverage excludes physical damage, liquid damage, electrical surges, misuse, unauthorized repairs, and normal wear and tear. Warranty terms may vary per listing.

13. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Abuse the platform
  • Attempt fraudulent purchases
  • Interfere with platform security
  • Upload malicious software
  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated systems
  • Misrepresent information

We may suspend or terminate accounts violating these Terms.

14. Intellectual Property

All platform content including branding, logos, images, design, product content, and source code remains the property of Console Vault unless otherwise stated. You may not reproduce or distribute platform content without written permission.

15. Platform Availability

We aim to keep the platform operational at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may update features, perform maintenance, modify functionality, or suspend services temporarily without prior notice.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Console Vault shall not be liable for indirect damages, loss of profits, data loss, delayed deliveries, or third-party service failures. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights provided under South African consumer law.

17. Privacy

Your use of the platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using Console Vault, you consent to the collection and processing of personal information in accordance with POPIA.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any disputes shall fall under the jurisdiction of South African courts.
